FAQ
Your questions. No detours.
Searching for 2nd-pillar assets always raises the same questions — here they are, with complete answers. Missing one? Write to us.
The complete search generally takes between 3 and 4 weeks. As soon as you launch your request, we immediately contact the relevant institutions (pension funds, 2nd Pillar Central Office). The timeframe depends on the response time of these official organizations. You receive your results by registered mail at your home, with a detailed summary of all assets found.
Yes, the AVS number is absolutely essential to perform an complete search. It's your unique identifier in the Swiss pension system. Without this number, institutions cannot locate your assets. Rest assured: your AVS number is protected by bank-level encryption and is only used for your search.
To start, only a valid ID document (identity card or passport) is necessary. We verify it securely during your registration. If needed, we may ask you for other supplementary documents during the process, but we guide you step by step. In 95% of cases, the ID document is sufficient.
The security of your data is our absolute priority. TLS 1.3 encryption in transit and AES-256 at rest, for all your information. Data is hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt) with GDPR-compliant processors, in line with the Swiss nFADP. It is never sold or shared with unauthorised third parties: only the relevant pension institutions receive the information strictly necessary for your search, and you can request deletion at any time.
The search for your 2nd-pillar assets is completely free and without obligation: no registration fee, no commission, not a franc taken from the assets found — the funds always pay directly into your account. Pillarum is funded by its professional version, Pillarum Pro, built for wealth managers. If you wish, an optional paid follow-up exists afterwards (consolidation, pension planning), provided by partner firms — and we decline mandates that would not serve your situation.
If we locate your forgotten assets, you receive a complete report detailing the estimated amount and the institution holding them. You are then free to recover them directly from that institution. We provide you with all the necessary information and procedures. You maintain full control over your assets at every step.
Technically yes, but it's long and complex. You would have to write compliant requests, follow each file, and chase late responders. This can take several months and requires in-depth knowledge of the LPP system. Pillarum automates this entire process for you in a few minutes and guarantees that nothing is forgotten.
No, there is no age limit. Whether you are 25, 45 or 65 years old, you can search for your forgotten 2nd pillar assets. Assets can be recovered at any time, even after your retirement. The sooner you launch the search, the faster you recover your money.
If you worked in Switzerland and then abroad, your Swiss assets remain in the Swiss system. They don't disappear. Our search covers all Swiss institutions, regardless of your current place of residence. If you reside abroad, we can also help you according to bilateral agreements in place.
No, your 2nd pillar assets are never lost and don't expire. They remain available indefinitely. Even after 10, 20 or 30 years, you have the right to recover them or your heirs can do so. Institutions have a legal obligation to keep your money until you or your heirs claim it.
